Impressive Comeback After Ankle Injury
Rome, May 10th, 2024
German tennis sensation Alexander Zverev has made a triumphant return to the ATP Masters 1000 circuit, advancing to the final of the ATP Rome tournament. This marks his 11th Masters 1000 final appearance and his first since suffering a catastrophic ankle injury last year.
Zverev, currently ranked number five in the world, found himself trailing Chilean qualifier Cristian Tabilo by a set in their semifinal match. However, the 2017 Rome champion displayed his trademark fighting spirit, battling back to win 1-6, 7-6.
